Pot up dahlia plug plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. Prior to planting, prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. After all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise dahlia plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting into their final positions on fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun. Garden Ready plug plants can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost.

Feed and water dahlia plants regularly throughout the growing season. Pinch out the growing tip of each young stem to encourage bushier growth and more flowers. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
