Mimulus X Cultorum ‘Major Bees’

Exotic-looking, yellow trumpet-shaped flowers with red markings make a wonderful addition to the summer garden. Also known as Monkey Flower, Mimulus x cultorum ‘Major Bees’ is a bushy, perennial plant preferring a moist soil, and is perfectly happy growing beside ponds or in damp shady corners of the garden. Mimulus can also be grown in shaded patio containers for a welcome spash of colour. Height and spread: 50cm (20″).

Culinary information: The leaves of the monkeyflower can be eaten raw or cooked. They have a slightly bitter flavour and are mostly added to salads as the leaves can also be used as a lettuce substitute. For more details about edible flowers click here.
